Mahfuz Tuhin was born into a noble family in the village of Dariyapur in the Gaibandha district of Bangladesh. He did his secondary from Lakshipur High School and higher secondary from Dhaka College, Dhaka, and earned his Honors and Masters degrees from Bangladesh National University. Currently he lives in New York City. He spends his spare time reading and writing.
মাহফুজ তুহিন বাংলাদেশ'র গাইবান্ধা জেলার দাড়িয়াপুর নামক গ্রামে এক সম্ভ্রান্ত পরিবারে জম্ন গ্রহণ করেন। তিনি লক্ষীপুর উচ্চবিদ্যায় থেকে মাধ্যমিক এবং ঢাকা কলেজ, ঢাকা, থেকে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক করেন এবং বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অনার্স ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন। বর্তমানে তিনি নিউইয়র্ক শহরে বসবাস করছেন। তিনি অবসর সময়ে বই পড়া এবং লেখা-লেখীতে সময় দিয়ে থাকেন।
